Game Review:

Elements is an addictive fantasy-themed card game by Zanzarino Design. Players can create and test out virtual decks by battling AI or other players. This game is similar to Magic: The Gathering and Yu Gi Oh so it's recommended to anyone who likes CCGs.
The ground rules are simple. You are to take on the role of one of twelve elementals and utilize the power of creatures, spells, and permanents to test your strength against other elementals. In a standard dual, each player starts off with a hundred HP and the first to reduce their opponent's to zero is the winner.
To play the game, you need three types of cards: creatures, spells and permanents. Creatures will attack your opponent each turn and some have special abilities. Spells cast an effect and are discarded. Permanents, like the name suggests, will continuously produce their effect until the end of the game (unless it's stolen or destroyed).
However, casting a creature requires an amount of energy. This is where "Quanta" comes in. Somewhat like Energy cards in Pokemon, quanta is what you need to use an ability on a creature, cast a spell, or play a permanent, among others. Pillars or pendulums are played to supply quanta.
If you win, you get useful currency which could be used towards buying new cards or upgrading old ones. You also get to spin a slot machine composed of your opponent's deck. Much like a casino, if you get three cards in a row, it's yours. If you lose, you also lose a small amount of currency.
Elements really puts your strategic mind to the test. Along its slick card design and illustrations, the game can pull you in for hours at a time, though each dual lasts no longer than a few minutes. It might be a very casual at the beginning but once you get into more upgraded and advanced deck-building, the game is anything but casual. It's recommended for anyone who likes CCGs is looking for a challenge.

Show Review:

A few years ago, whenever that magical three word phrase was uttered, it was always to either ridicule it or used as a bad recommendation on purpose. Today, it is used sincerely by people attempting to convince others to watch it, though it is still often given as a recommendation to people who dislike it. It is mentioned in almost every part of the web, leaving a few people who have not heard of it. Most of the show's popularity spread through word of mouth. Many of its fans were pressured into watching by their friends and acquaintances, including me. This review is an attempt to inform others about the show, though staying neutral is proving difficult.

The first thing you notice about My Little Pony is its colour. Orange, pink, purple, white, all the colours stand out from each other to create a very clear and detailed setting. The animation quality is very high, for something made using 2D models. It cleanly displays the essential bits of the story, though it isn't groundbreaking. The character designs are simple and somewhat stylized, though they work well together with the animation and colour to create an experience that is ultimately superior to the cluttered messes that were the previous iterations of My Little Pony.

As the subtitle may have suggested, and many have inferred from the title alone, this show is about friendship, though whether it successfully shows that it is magic is up in the air. The start of the whole series is the foremost main character being sent to live with the plebeians (aka. commoners) to learn lessons about friendship. Though many of the conflicts in the story are caused by friendship (or lack thereof), they are all resolved at the end of the day with friendship, or something tangentially related to it. Unlike previous versions of My Little Pony, this show (mostly) stays on course with its theme, and isn't overt enough to drown out the other elements of the story.

Like most shows, this has its flaws. The beginning starts slowly enough that viewers tentatively sampling the show are turned away due to the formulaic first minutes, though later episodes become much more entertaining. The show in general has a fairly high standard quality, though there are some questionable decisions that bring down episodes with potential.

Overall, MLP:FiM is a very solid show to get into, as it has a very active community, which is partially the reason for this show's growing popularity. If you can ward off the fan's continuous attempts to have you become one with the herd, and partake of it on your own accord, you may find it one of television's best shows.

Except for Breaking Bad and The Wire, of course.

Rules:
Sudoku is a Japanese number placement puzzle. The goal of Sudoku is to fill in the entire box with numbers. A few numbers are given for the players to work with. Sudoku takes place in a 9x9 grid. Within this grid, there are small 3x3 grids called regions. There are very few rules to this game.
1. Within a row or column, the player has to fill in the numbers 1 to 9 without repeating the numbers.
2. Within a region (3x3 grid), each number from 1 to 9 is to be place once.
3. You are not allowed to replace the numbers already given.

Have fun!
